Lipotherme™ Laser Lipolysis - A Smarter Lipo

SmartLipo | Lipotherme | Palm Springs | Calabasas Lipotherme™ is an FDA-approved laser lipolysis procedure similar to SmartLipo®, SlimLipo®, and SmoothLipo®, used to effectively remove unwanted areas of fat while simultaneously contracting skin cells for smoother, firmer skin and a slimmer, more defined body contour.  Manufactured by Osyris, Lipotherme offers many advantages over conventional liposuction, allowing patients to achieve their desired results through just one simple treatment session.

Lipotherme can treat many different areas that are commonly plagued by stubborn areas of localized fat, including the:

  • Abdomen
  • Waist
  • Back
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Face
  • Knees
  • Arms
  • Ankles

Benefits of Lipotherme - A Smarter Lipo

Lipotherme is a safe and effective procedure with no associated risks, no scarring and little to no downtime.  Along with other laser lipolysis procedures, Lipotherme offers patients many advantages over the traditional liposuction procedure.  Many doctors recommend Lipotherme as an alternative to liposuction, or recommend that the procedures be performed together for maximum results.

While liposuction is effective in removing areas of unwanted fat, it often leaves the skin in the area loose and hanging, requiring patients to undergo additional procedures in order to achieve their desired results.  The laser energy used in the Lipotherme procedure tones the skin while fat is suctioned out of the body, causing it to tighten and conform to the body’s new contours.

In addition to the maximum results achieved by the Lipotherme procedure, it is also offers patients:

  • Short procedure time
  • Less invasive than any other lipolysis procedure
  • Little to no downtime
  • Minimal discomfort

Candidates for Lipotherme - A Smarter Lipo

Lipotherme is most effective for patients who are close to their ideal weight, but have one or more stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to conventional diet and exercise.  It is important for patients to understand that Lipotherme is designed to remove areas of localized fat and cannot be used as a means of significant weight loss or as a treatment for obesity.

While the Lipotherme procedure is considered safe for most patients, those who are pregnant should not undergo this procedure.  People taking certain medications may also be advised not to undergo this procedure.  Your doctor will decide whether or not Lipotherme is right for you after a thorough evaluation of your condition.

Lipotherme Procedure - A Smarter Lipo

During the Lipotherme procedure, the targeted area will be numbed with local anesthesia in order to minimize any discomfort for the patient.  Most patients report no pain during the Lipotherme procedure and only a heated sensation below the skin from the laser.

A thin metal tube called a cannula is inserted into the skin through a tiny incision, which then delivers laser energy to the targeted area.  The cannula is moved back and forth to ensure that the entire area is treated.  The heat energy from the laser liquefies fat cells and allows them to be easily suctioned out of the body for permanent removal.  Since the incision for the cannula is so small, no sutures are needed.  Patients can return home shortly after their procedure is completed.

Recovery and Results of Lipotherme - A Smarter Lipo

Like SmartLipo®, SlimLipo®, and SmoothLipo®,after the Lipotherme treatment, most patients can resume their regular activities the very next day, although strenuous physical activity should be avoided for several days.  The results of the procedure will be visible after one to two weeks or faster, depending on the area of the body that was treated and the patient’s individual response to treatment.  Full results are usually apparent after 12 to 16 weeks, although improvements can continue after this point.

Most patients only require one session in order to achieve their desired results, as the fat cells that are removed cannot regenerate.  However, new fat cells can develop in the future.  It is important for patients to implement a healthy diet and regular exercise routine in order to maintain the results of the Lipotherme procedure.  Excessive weight gain can significantly alter your appearance even after treatment with Lipotherme.  Your doctor will help you decide if you need another treatment after the initial area is fully healed.

To learn more about the Lipotherme procedure and to find out if it is right for you, please call us today to schedule a consultation and take the first step towards getting rid of those unwanted areas of fat.
