"Dear Dr. Quardt,
My mother and I would like to thank you sincerely for the fabulous care you gave to us, and especially for the miraculous results!  I can't believe what a difference you made for both of us.  The best part is that I've received SO many comments telling me I look more rested, or asking what moisturizer I'm using!  The filler you used on both of us, too, made a huge difference.

Although we didn't know what we wanted when we first consulted with you, you knew instantly exactly what treatments we needed.  I appreciate that you didn't suggest some terribly expensive, drastic measure; you really know your business and, thankfully, you keep an eye on costs.  You've been available for questions and follow-up and best of all, you bring a feminine, aesthetic, and gentle approach to your medical practice."

Just wanted to let you know we're your biggest fans!”
“N.B. and E.T.”

Face Lift

Facelift | Necklift | Palm Springs | Calabasas In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time. After surgery, some patients appear 10-15 years younger.

Dr. Quardt takes meticulous time and care to create a facelift that looks natural and not ‘pulled-back’ (or ‘wind-blown’).  Goals of surgery include removing excess tissue, tightening key, existing tissues and restoring volume losses that occur with aging.

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery)

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person’s nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing.  Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia.

"Dear Dr. Quardt,
I can’t thank you enough and words just won’t convey my gratitude.  I am grateful for your talent, kindness and skill.  I feel lucky to have had you there and my nose is especially lucky!  Ha-ha!  I will save up for the eyes and the tummy-tuck!"

Sincerely,
 E.N.

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)

Eyelid surgery can rejuvenate ‘tired-appearing’, saggy or puffy eyes.  Occasionally, eyelid surgery may be covered by insurance if one’s field-of-vision is obstructed by the excess skin of the upper eyelid- this must be confirmed by an ophthalmologist.  Upper eyelid surgery can sometimes be performed in an office-setting under local anesthesia if the skin-excess is minimal.  Lower eyelid surgery can oftentimes be performed via the ‘trans-conjunctival’ (from the inside of the lower eyelid) approach and leaves no external scar.  Lower eyelid surgery can also be performed in conjunction with skin-resurfacing procedures to remove excessive skin and wrinkles.

Facial Implants

Whether or not we notice it consciously, full cheeks are often a part of how we judge a person's face. Cheek implants can have a major impact on the appearance and self-confidence of patients whose cheeks have thinned or sunken due to age, illness or other causes. Likewise, the chin helps provide harmony to the facial features. Often, patients come to the office desiring a smaller nose when, in fact, a chin augmentation provides a balance to the facial features. Implant sizes and shapes to augment the cheek and chin are tailored to each patient's desired appearance.

Otoplasty (ear surgery)

Ear surgery for children or adults can set prominent ears back closer to the head and reduce the size of large ears. Surgery may also be helpful for “lop ear," "cupped ear" and "shell ear,” large or stretched earlobes, and lobes with creases and wrinkles or stretched-out piercings.. The procedure may be performed in a hospital, office-based facility or an outpatient surgery center under general or local anesthesia.

Latisse™

Facelift | Necklift | Palm Springs | Calabasas Full, natural-looking eyelashes can now be achieved through a prescription treatment called LatisseTM.  Latisse is the first and only eyelash treatment approved by the FDA to help grow longer, fuller and darker eyelashes and treat hypotrichosis, a condition that includes having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

Latisse contains bimatoprost, an active ingredient that improves the appearance of your lashes and is often found in glaucoma medication.  While the precise science of the treatment is not known, research suggests that the number of hairs and duration of the growth process are increased by bimatoprost.

This prescription medication is applied topically to the base of the eyelashes once a day, after makeup and contact lenses have been removed and any other skincare products have already been applied.  While it does not replace mascara, Latisse offers an attractive complement to help further enhance full, long and beautiful lashes.

The results of Latisse are visible after 4 weeks, with full results appearing after 16 weeks.  You can track the progress of your results through photographs.  Side effects of Latisse are rare but may include itching, redness or dryness in the eye area.  You should not use Latisse if you have an active eye infection or broken skin or irritated skin on the eyelid.  Call your doctor today to find out if Latisse is right for you.

Fillers

Facelift | Necklift | Palm Springs | Calabasas Fillers are cosmetic injections used to smooth wrinkles or scars, sculpt lips, and shape facial features. Fillers are FDA-approved and safe for use by most patients.  Many of the fillers are made from substances found naturally in the body, or synthetically made to mimic natural substances or stimulate collagen production.  These fillers are injected directly into the skin of the targeted area to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.Below is a list of filler injections that Dr. Quardt provides:

  • Restylane®
  • Perlane®
  • Radiesse™
  • Juvederm™
  • Hylaform® and Hylaform Plus®
  • Sculptra™

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin.  Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons. Below is a list of chemical peels that Dr.Quardt provides:

  • TCA
  • Glycolic acid
  • Salicylic acid
  • Obagi blue peel

Brow Lift

Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, the muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.

Mini Face Lift

Also known as a ‘Short-scar’ facelift, can be performed in appropriate patients without too much facial laxity who would like a less-involved procedure than a full-facelift in order to tighten up their mid and lower facial areas.

Fat Transfer

Facelift | Necklift | Palm Springs | Calabasas With aging, massive weight-loss and occasionally disease, the face may tend to lose volume and fullness resulting in hollowing of areas particularly around the eyes, below the cheekbones, and in the temporal areas.  Facial skin may start to sag down towards the mouth area creating prominent “nasolabial folds”.  These changes may suggest a more aged-appearance.  Volume correction may be performed by taking fat from other areas (such as the abdomen, breast or buttocks areas) that is then injected into the hollow, facial areas in a process called “fat transfer” or “fat-grafting” to restore that more youthful shape.

Lip Enhancement

Full and vivacious lips have always been recognized as aesthetically important features. Some of us, however, are born with thin, ill-defined lips, or our lips lose their fullness with age. But the appearance of our lips is now within our control. Fine lines and wrinkles, thin lips and a drooping corner of the mouth are all areas that can be aided with injectable fillers. The market is ever changing, with new products appearing rapidly. Care is individualized to provide a safe and effective treatment option.

Excitingly, there are new saline implants available to more permanently augment the lips.  Please come in and ask about these new lip implants!

Neck Lift

With massive weight-loss, weight-gain and/or aging, the tissue and skin in the neck region tends to lose elasticity.  The underlying platysma muscles may form unsightly ‘bands’ that become a cardinal sign of aging.  The fat beneath the chin area may become prominent and unsightly (creating a chin ‘waddle’) and the overlying skin may become loose and redundant giving an undesirable ‘turkey-neck’ appearance.

Neck rejuvenation may be performed utilizing a number of procedures, oftentimes in combination in order to restore the volume and contour of a more youthful neck.  Many times, it is the neck area that may give away someone’s age more than the facial area.  Procedures include neck liposuction, full necklift performed in conjunction with a full facelift, platysmaplasty (sewing up the platysma muscle vertical banding or cords), or isolated necklift which is popular in men who do not desire a full facelift.  The skin in the neck region may also be resurfaced to improve the color and texture, or treated with Thermage to stimulate collagen production and further tightening over time.
